Lydia graduated from The College of Charleston with a BA in Studio Art. She is currently living and working in Martha's Vineyard, MA. Her work is available through The A Gallery in West Tisbury, Martha’s Vineyard, MA.
My work is largely figurative and documents and explores physical youth and personal relationships within contemporary American lifestyle through photorealistic drawings and watercolor paintings.
I am currently working on a series of watercolor paintings on canvas that examine and pay homage to the individuals in my life and the scenes that they create. These paintings document a specific time and location in my life, as well as the lives of the people portrayed.
I am also working on an ongoing series loosely titled “Family History” where I create images based on photographs sourced from family member’s albums and collections. For me this provides a sense of identity and examines memory construction.
